Mumbai Walking Tour : - (Magical Marine Drive)
The pretty route stretches over some 2 miles from the southern end of Nariman Point to the northern end of Malabar Hill. Although there are not many attractions around, a simple walk on the Marine Drive will surely delight your heart.
1) Nariman Point
From the southern end of Marine Drive, start your beach-side walk, where it meets Madame Cama Road. As you start walking alongside the walkway, you will come across some of the most sought after real estates in India including various art Deco style apartments.
2) Wankhede Stadium
Thereafter, you’ll cross the oversized Wankhede Stadium (D. Road, Churchgate), a popular venue for playing cricket. Since its inception, this stadium has played host to several international cricket matches. If you happen to visit this town during October to April, make sure to be a part of the electric crowd ambience.
3) Food and Drink Vendors
While walking towards the north, you’ll come across various roadside food & drink vendors selling roasted corn, masala-dusted peanuts, fried snacks, coconut water and ice cream. Make sure to savor the iconic bhelpuri sold at the nearby Chowpatty beach.
4) Chowpatty Beach
A hot favorite among young couples and family members, Chowpatty Beach is recognized for its delectable bhelpuri, one of Mumbai’s eating specialty.
5) Kamala Nehru Park
As you enter the Walkeshwar Marg, you’ll come across two picturesque spots. One of them is Kamala Nehru Park located on Bal Gangadhar Kher Road. It is a beautiful park offering spectacular views of Marine Drive and Chowpatty Beach.
6) Hanging Gardens
Located next to the Kamala Nehru Park is Hanging Gardens, which is quite large and well maintained. Conclude your tour with a laid back walk around this verdant ornamental park.
